Peter J. Gurfein is Co-Lead in Colorado of Giffords Gun Owners for Safety, a nationwide association of gun owners dedicated to enacting common sense gun safety legislation and promoting responsible gun ownership.  Mr. Gurfein is an attorney (retired) and a former prosecutor whose civil practice focused on corporate and financial restructuring. Mr. Gurfein also was a mediator in federal district court and bankruptcy court.  His appellate practice included appearances in New York State’s Appellate Court, the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, and the United States Supreme Court.   Mr. Gurfein is rated AV Preeminent by Martindale-Hubbell, that company’s highest rating in both legal ability and ethical standards. Mr. Gurfein received his B.A. from New York University and his J.D. from George Washington University. Mr. Gurfein also studied at the Strauss Institute for Dispute Resolution of the Pepperdine University School of Law.
