Local Colorado Springs family hosts International Visitors for dinner

Since 2014, WACA has made PRISM, the journal of complex operations published at National Defense University, available to Councils and their members.

The Colorado Springs World Affairs Council is one of more than 90 community-based organizations in the country that provides assistance to international visitors brought to the United States under the U.S. Department of State’s prestigious International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP).

Our international guests want to share an authentic American meal in an American household. During their visit to the United States these guests are in formal meetings throughout the week; help them unwind as you get to know them in a more intimate environment --  the dinner table. What better way to share and learn about culture than over a meal?

"Having guests in our home in Colorado Springs is such a great way to expand our friendships and our awareness and knowledge of other parts of the world. This people-to-people approach to international relations is the most important way we can be an active part of this world that we all share.
" JANET FOERSTER, WORLD DINNER HOST

Travel

Travel the World Series

The Colorado Springs World Affairs Council offers travel opportunities in partnership with the World Affairs Council of Philadelphia, which organizes the Travel the World trips for the national association of Councils.  If you enjoy traveling on unique tours to fascinating destinations and having access to political experts and local guides who give behind the scenes views and briefings, then you’ll quickly discover why traveling with this program is so special.

Because of our reputation as one of the nation’s leading forums, the Council has established connections around the globe that allow us to offer members access that they can’t get when traveling alone or on other tours.  Travel leaders are drawn from across the World Affairs Councils of America leadership, and experts from the fields of diplomacy, journalism, or academia accompany some tours as lecturers, thereby providing added value to the experience.
