As the Executive Director of Colorado Youth Outdoors (CYO), Marty has dedicated his career to connecting young people and their families with the outdoors, fostering meaningful relationships and lifelong skills through nature-based activities.

Professional Journey:

Marty's career is marked by a unique blend of military discipline and a deep passion for conservation. Before joining CYO, he served in the United States Military, where he developed a robust skill set in leadership, strategic planning, and team coordination. His military experience instilled in him a commitment to excellence, resilience, and a deep sense of duty—all of which he brings to his role at CYO.

Following his military service, Marty transitioned to a pivotal role at Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW). At CPW, he was instrumental in promoting wildlife conservation and outdoor recreation programs. His work involved extensive collaboration with various stakeholders, enhancing public awareness about the importance of preserving Colorado's natural heritage.

Leadership at Colorado Youth Outdoors:

At CYO, Marty leads with a vision of creating transformative outdoor experiences. He has significantly expanded the organization's programs, introducing innovative activities such as Shotgun shooting at Cheyenne Mountain, Archery at USAFA, Fly Fishing at USAFA, and Small Bore shooting at CPW and other locations. Under his leadership, CYO has launched exciting events like the Game Night Feast, featuring engaging games and valuable raffle prizes, which strengthen community bonds and foster a sense of belonging.

Marty’s strategic approach emphasizes phased project planning, collaboration, and sustainability. He prioritizes safety, environmental stewardship, and inclusivity, ensuring that all participants can thrive and build strong connections with mentors, peers, and the natural world.
